GSV SUPPLY CHAIN SECURITY AUDIT

The Global Security Verification (GSV) Standard is a Program developed by Intertek to help International Merchants as well as Distributors establish and improve their Global Security-Verification Process. The aim is to provide Safety Assurance, Risk Control, Efficiency, and Cost Savings for all Participants. The GSV Program integrates multiple Global Supply Chain Security Initiatives, including C-TPAT, Canadian Partners in Protection (PIP) and AEO Programme. More than 14,000 Suppliers globally are currently participating in the GSV Program. Its core objective is to enhance the supply chain security criteria to protect global trade against terrorist acts. GSV is a certification-based security program for importers, carriers, consolidators, licensed customs brokers, manufacturers, etc. It is becoming a widely accepted standard by international customers and retail stores. Brands and international buyers are demanding more effective measures for evaluating suppliers’ security systems. Effective measures for supplier’s security system evaluation are demanded by the brands and international buyers, they demand a more effective way of evaluation. By implementing GSV standards, organizations can improve their overall security system to assure the confidence & satisfaction of their customers and other stakeholders. It’s a score-based certification, if any factory meets the minimum score in the audit it is required to get the certificate issued as well as different customers set different acceptable scores against the audit. GSV Certification enables importers and suppliers to leverage efforts through a common industry platform and collaboration and access to the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) Lanes at the land borders. GSV Certification is not awarded once and for all, it must be renewed before the expiration of the certificate. Once the audit is successfully conducted, the certification body issues the certificate with a validity of one year, and after completion of one year of the audit cycle, a re-audit will be conducted to continue the process of certification.
