The Supplier Compliance Audit Network is an Industry Trade Association that provides a systematic approach whereby mutually acceptable global compliance standards are achieved in reducing audit and operational redundancy for Supply Chain Stakeholders. In 2015 a group of leading CTPAT members, including Walmart, Home Depot and Target, combined to form the Supplier Compliance Audit Network (SCAN) Association. SCAN is at the leading edge of supply chain security and has America’s most prominent retailers as members. The audits of vendors is consistent with CTPAT criteria and reaches all levels of the supply chain. SCAN provides multiple membership types to provide importers, transportation and logistics providers, and service providers the opportunity to participate in developing the association and streamlining their supply chain security audit management. Both US Customs and the C-TPAT Organization have been introduced to SCAN and have acknowledged the potential benefits of the Program. The SCAN Audit has been developed on the C-TPAT Requirements to ensure Security Compliance set out by U.S. Customs. The SCAN Association is a not-for-profit corporation formed by some of the major importers of goods into the United States and Canada. The purpose of this organization is to standardize the format and content of supply chain security audits with the intention of providing a method of sharing results and limiting the number of audits that the vendor and manufacturing communities are required to undergo, thus reducing audit fatigue.
