GREEN TO WEAR STANDARD
GTW 2.1 INDITEX AUDIT
Inditex released Version 2.1 of Green to Wear (GTW), the Sustainability Standard for Wet Process Enterprises, in September 2021. Wet processing enterprises that produce for Inditex must undergo an Environmental GTW 2.1 audit, as well as a Social Audit. One of Inditex’s strategic objectives for 2020 is to reach Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals in our entire supply chain. To achieve this, Inditex has developed the project on Capacity Building in the Supply Chain. At the same time, Inditex continues to implement their own Green to Wear standard, which includes their efforts in the wet processes of the manufacturing: dyeing, printing, washing, tanning and finishing. Based on the Clean Factory approach, Inditex promotes the best techniques available for efficient environmental management and sustainable chemistry. A and B scores are the highest scores and the company can produce Join Life. If the company receives a C score as a result of the audit, it is updated to the CCAP (corrective action planned C) score either by itself or as a sponsor of the main manufacturer. In this case, the company is able to produce Join life for 6 months. at the end of 6 months, a follow-up GTW audit is performed to the company and the score is updated. The expectation in the follow-up audit is that the company will receive an A or B score. If the company receives a C again the follow-up audit; the score remains “C” and the company loses the right to produce a Join Life. When the company receives a D the GTW audit; it or the main manufacturer sponsors that nonconformities will be closed, and the company´s audit score is updated to the DCAP score. In this case, the company is only able to produce orders that are outside of Join life to the companies that sponsor it. at the end of 6 months, a follow-up GTW audit is performed to the company and the score is updated. The expectation in the follow-up audit is that the company will receive an A or B score. If the company receives D the follow-up audit again; the company is blocked.
